la Fiona

La Fiona project addresses the expansion, in both surface and volume, as well as the rehabilitation of a multifamily building in Barcelona, creating three new housing units. Fiona insists on a persistent strategy of the studio: resolving the housing layout by inserting new volumes within the new orthogonal perimeter of the building. These new elements, intentionally contrasted both chromatically and geometrically with the container, not only define the unbuilt space but also address the functional program typical of a home, absorbing storage spaces, incorporating the bathrooms within them, and generating fluid circulation between the different rooms. The fixed furniture is approached plastically, enhanced by subtle variations of tones in each volume.
